A wide range, including email platforms, cloud storage, accounting software and payment systems, plus custom APIs where a ready-made connector doesn't exist. Claris Connect handles most of the popular business tools out of the box, and where it doesn't, FileMaker's own Data API and ODBC support usually fill the gap. As part of our Claris FileMaker development work, we assess what you're currently using and identify the sensible connection points before building anything. The result is a system that shares data properly instead of living in isolation.
Do we need to rebuild our FileMaker solution first?+
Usually not. Claris Connect integrates with what you already have without requiring a rebuild of your existing FileMaker database. It sits alongside your current solution and extends it, rather than forcing a fresh development project just to add integration. Occasionally an older or badly structured system needs some tidying up first, but that's the exception rather than the rule. We'll tell you honestly if that applies before quoting for any work.
What happens if a connected service changes its API?+
We monitor integrations after go-live and fix them promptly when an upstream change breaks something, rather than leaving you to discover it when an invoice fails to sync. Third-party services update their APIs on their own schedule, not yours, which is exactly why ongoing monitoring matters more than a one-off setup. Is Claris Connect secure?+
Yes, it's built and maintained by Claris with proper authentication and data handling built into the platform from the ground up. We then configure each connection to your specific security requirements, including access permissions and what data actually gets shared between systems. Sensible integration design also limits exposure by only passing the fields that genuinely need to move. Security isn't an add-on here, it's built into how we plan the integration from the start.
Can you support us if we're not based near Bicester?+
Absolutely. We support Claris FileMaker integrations for clients right across the UK, almost entirely remotely, using secure screen sharing and test environments. Being based in Bicester, Oxfordshire doesn't limit who we work with, it's simply where our team sits. Most integration work never requires anyone on site at all. If you do need someone in person occasionally, we'll arrange it, but it's rarely necessary.
